Caribbean Passion Smoothies

Caribbean Passion Smoothie

This tropical smoothie combines so many good fruit flavors — passionfruit, mango, peaches, strawberries, and orange. It’s intensely fruity, very sweet, and ultra thick. Just like you expect from Jamba Juice®, you can expect from this recipe!

I love being able to re-create my favorite smoothies like this Jamba Juice strawberry wild and this Caribbean Passion Smoothie from the comfort of my home.

Caribbean Passion Smoothie Ingredients

  • Passion fruit juice. If you can’t find look for a juice with passion fruit and mango for the best tropical flavor.
  • Orange sherbet. For a dairy-free version, try orange or mango sorbet. Vanilla frozen yogurt is an option but less tropical.
  • Frozen strawberries, frozen mango, and frozen peaches. Use frozen fruit for a thick, cold smoothie.
  • Ice. Ice helps thicken and chill the smoothie. Pebble ice works especially well for blending.

Quick Tip

I sometimes purchase rainbow sherbet (instead of plain orange sherbet) and scoop out the orange sherbet for this recipe then use the other two sherbet flavors for different smoothies or desserts.

Caribbean Passion Smoothie Tips

  • When measuring the frozen fruit, pack it into a measuring cup to get an accurate measurement.
  • It’s helpful to add liquids into the blender first with frozen fruit and ice on top. This can help avoid blender cavitation.
  • To get a thick smoothie consistency, you’ll want to use a high-powered blender. Stir in between blending bursts if needed.
  • While it might seem silly to actually measure out the ingredients for this smoothie (instead of just eye-balling and throwing everything in), I do recommend measuring ingredients the first few times you make this Caribbean Passion Smoothie. Throwing random ingredients in a blender can often end up giving you way too much smoothie or the beverage can end up tasting off.

Storage

  • This Caribbean passion smoothie is best enjoyed right after blending.
  • If you don’t think the whole batch will be finished, I recommend halving the recipe before blending.

Recipe Notes

Note 1: I highly recommend this Passion Fruit Juice, but any juice with passion fruit and mango will work for this recipe.
Note 2: If you need a dairy-free treat, orange or mango sorbet works great in this recipe as well! Vanilla frozen yogurt can also be used in a pinch, but the flavor is less tropical.
Storage: I recommend enjoying this smoothie all at once, ideally right after you make it. The ingredients tend to separate quickly, so it doesn’t store well, and the thick consistency is lost if left sitting.
