The Real Secret to a Great Salad: The Dressing!
If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I take my salads very seriously. No sad, wilted lettuce and definitely no sadder store-bought dressings. I’m all about flavor-packed homemade dressings. And honestly, once you start making your own, it’s really hard to go back. They’re quick, easy, and the flavor is on a completely different level. Everything just tastes so much better!
Whenever I start testing a new dressing, I make a ton of versions and keep tweaking the amounts until it’s just right. Then comes the taste test. I usually make my sisters come over and try them all with me haha.
I’m a little obsessed with good salad dressings, and this one is easily one of my favorites. It’s creamy, tangy, a little sweet, and seriously so good.

Ingredients In Creamy Balsamic Dressing Recipe
| Ingredient | Let’s Chat About It |
|---|---|
| Greek yogurt | Makes the dressing creamy and adds a slight tang. Use a thick, flavorful Greek yogurt for the best dressing. |
| Balsamic vinegar | Choose a good-quality balsamic for the best flavor. |
| Maple syrup & Dijon mustard | Maple syrup adds a little sweetness while Dijon brings a nice tang that balances the dressing. Use real maple syrup, not pancake syrup. |
| Olive oil | Adds richness and helps create a smooth, emulsified dressing. Use extra-virgin for the best flavor. |
| Garlic, salt & pepper | Simple seasonings that round out the flavor. If you plan to store the dressing longer, skip the garlic. |

Chelsea’s Notes
My Favorite Ways To Use This Dressing:
- Dipping Sauce: Use as a dip for fresh veggies.
- Salads: Drizzle over green salads, chopped salads, or spinach salads.
- Grain Bowls: Add to quinoa bowls, rice bowls, or roasted veggie bowls.
- Chicken: Spoon over grilled or baked chicken for extra flavor.
- Roasted Vegetables: Toss with roasted carrots, asparagus, or Brussels.
- Wraps & Sandwiches: Spread inside wraps, pita pockets, or sandwiches.
Tips For Success
- Use thick Greek yogurt: Skip low-fat or fat-free so the dressing stays creamy. This is my favorite yogurt for this recipe!
- Adjust flavor: Add more maple syrup for sweetness or more Dijon for extra tang.
- Chill first: Refrigerate for better flavor, then shake before serving.
