You’re Going to Want to Double the Batch, Trust Me!
If you’ve followed my blog for any amount of time, you know I’m fully obsessed with sliders. I’ve made everything from French dip to Monte Cristo to grinder sliders, and at this point I’ve tried just about every variation. Somewhere along the way, I may have earned a bit of a reputation for them being really, really good.
So when a reader messaged me asking if I had a Chicken Cordon Bleu slider recipe and where she could find it, I immediately realized something shocking. How had I not made this already?
I tested it right away, and let me just say, it did not disappoint. This one might actually be my new favorite slider. Tender chicken, savory deli ham, and melty Swiss cheese tucked into soft, sweet Hawaiian rolls is an unbeatable combo. The tangy honey mustard is a must and adds so much flavor, and that garlicky butter on top is the perfect finishing touch.

Chicken Cordon Bleu Slider Ingredients
| Ingredient | Notes |
|---|---|
| Hawaiian Rolls | Sweet and soft. Great with savory fillings. Find in the bakery or bread aisle. |
| Deli Ham | Thinly sliced works best. Ask the deli for your ideal thickness. |
| Swiss Cheese | Pick a Swiss that melts well. Pre-sliced options work great. |
| Rotisserie Chicken | Use a store-bought rotisserie chicken or leftover cooked or grilled chicken. |
| Garlic-Herb Butter | Kerrygold works well, or mix 4 tbsp butter with 1/4–1/2 tsp garlic powder and 1/2–1 tsp Italian seasoning.= |
How To Make Chicken Cordon Bleu Sliders
- Preheat & Prep: Heat oven, grease pan, slice rolls, and place bottom half in the pan.
- Make Sauce: Whisk sauce ingredients and spread half on bottom rolls.
- Assemble: Layer cheese, ham, chicken, and more cheese. Place top rolls on.
- Add Butter: Melt butter, pour over rolls, brush evenly, and cover with foil.
- Bake: Bake, uncover, and bake again until cheese is melted and tops are golden.

Tips For Success
- Cutting rolls: Use a sharp, serrated knife!
- Layering: Evenly spread the ham, chicken, and cheese so every bite has all three.
- The spread: Don’t skip the spread—it adds lots of flavor! Spread it across the top and bottom halves.
- Butter: Brush butter over the rolls, including the sides, for a golden finish.
- Baking: Cover with foil first to keep sliders from drying out. Uncover for the last 5 minutes for a crispy top.
- Serving: Serve warm for melted cheese and crispy bread.
Variations
Change Up Your Sliders
- Add bacon: Add crispy bacon for extra smoky flavor. Just bake some bacon until it’s crispy and layer it in with the fillings.
- Replace chicken with turkey: Swap in shredded leftover turkey instead of chicken.
- Switch up the cheese: This recipe uses Swiss, but feel free to try other cheeses.
Storage
Leftovers?
- Refrigerate: Let sliders cool, then wrap each in foil or place in a sealed container. Keep in the fridge for up to 3 days. Warm in a 350°F oven for 10-15 minutes.
- Freeze: Wrap cooled sliders tightly in plastic and put in a freezer bag. Freeze up to 2 months. Heat straight from frozen at 350°F for 20-25 minutes.

Equipment
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup mayo
- 1-1/2 tablespoons Dijon-style mustard
- 1-1/2 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 12 Hawaiian sweet dinner rolls
- 1/2 pound deli ham
- 1 (7-ounce) package sliced Swiss cheese
- 1 cup shredded rotisserie chicken see note 1
- 4 tablespoons garlic-herb butter see note 2
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Grease a 9×13-inch pan. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half, keeping them attached. Place the bottom half in the prepared pan.
- Whisk together sauce ingredients until smooth. Spread just over half the sauce on the bottom slab of rolls and the remaining on the top half.
- To the bottom slab of rolls, layer half the cheese followed by the ham, chicken, and then the rest of the cheese. Add the top slab of rolls back on top of everything.
- Melt butter in the microwave, then slowly pour over the rolls. Use a pastry brush or spatula to evenly spread the mixture over the tops and sides. A little bit of the butter will pool at the bottom of the rolls, but that’s good; it makes the bottoms crispy! Cover the sliders with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 3–6 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and the rolls are golden on the top and bottom.
- Remove from the oven and serve promptly. Best enjoyed right out of the oven; they get soggy after sitting for any length of time.
