Halloween Bat Treats
Halloween Bat Treats Ingredients
- Reeseโs Miniature Cupsยฎ: Miniature size is preferred, but regular-sized work too.
- Oreo Thinsยฎ: Use THIN Oreos for their size; regular ones may be heavy. Separate carefully with a table knife. Feel like changing things up? Pick a different Oreo flavor to try!
- White Chocolate Chips: Look for a quality brand for the best melt and flavor.
- Edible Candy Eyes: Found in baking aisles or specialty stores. Choose your desired size. For tiny ones like in our photos, consider online shopping. Standard eye size fit well too on these Halloween Bat Treats!
Tips For Melting White Chocolate
- Avoid Water: Make sure utensils and bowls are dryโwater can make the chocolate grainy.
- Manage Thickness: If the white chocolate is too thick, add a drop of oil to thin. Donโt worry this wonโt change the flavor.
- Interval Heating: To avoid burning the chocolate, melt it in short bursts. Microwave in 20-30 second intervals, stirring in between.
How To Make Halloween Bat Treats
- Prepare Reeseโs Cups: Unwrap and chill the Reeseโs Cups. Stick the Reeseโs in the fridge for a few minutes to make easier to handle.
- Prepare Bat Wings: Break Oreo Thins in half to get four pieces per cookie. Discard the filling. Use a butter knife if the cookies break unevenly.
- Melt White Chocolate: Melt the white chocolate chips in 25-second intervals, stirring each time. Transfer to a plastic bag and cut a tiny corner for piping.
- Assemble Bats: Pipe a dot of white chocolate on the sides of each Reeseโs Cup and attach Oreo halves as wings. Pipe another dot below the wings and add the candy eyes. Press gently to secure wings and eyes.
Storage
Halloween Bat Treats will stay good for about 3-5 days in an airtight container at room temperature. For longer storage, keep them in the fridge for up to a week.
Quick Tip
Serve these bats on crumbled Oreos for a โdirtโ effect.
Or, if youโre hosting a Halloween party, set up a โBat Treat Stationโ where guests can assemble their own bat treats. It lets everyone get in on the fun!

Equipment
Ingredients
- 1 (10.5-ounce) package Miniature Reeseโs Cups unwrapped
- 1 (13.1-ounce) package Oreo THINS regular Oreos are too heavy!
- 3 tablespoons white chocolate chips
- Candy eyeballs
Instructionsย
- Unwrap the Reeseโs Miniature Cups. My kids love to help with this step! I like to chill them in the fridge while making the bat wings.
- Gently break Oreo Thins in half to get four pieces for "bat wings." Discard the filling (or enjoy it!). If cookies break unevenly, use a butter knife to separate them. Imperfect bats are perfect for Halloween!
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt white chocolate chips in 25-second intervals, stirring each time. Transfer to a resealable plastic bag and cut a tiny corner for piping.
- With the curvy side of each Reeseโs cup up, pipe a dot of melted white chocolate on the sides. Attach an Oreo half to each side for wings, pressing gently until the chocolate sets. Pipe another dot of white chocolate below the wings and place two candy eyes on it.
- If the white chocolate hardens, microwave it for 5โ10 seconds until smooth again.

Love this idea!! Making for our Halloween party, do you think mini marshmallows (with food color marker pupils ๐ ) would work instead of the candy eyes?? Canโt wait to see the kids reaction to these!!
You might need the bigger Reeseโs cup for those to fit ๐ Happy Halloween!
Why do you use white chocolate chips as the โglueโ instead of using chocolate chips?
They dry a lot faster than regular chocolate chips so you donโt have to hold in place as long!
Happy Thanksgiving 2019 to all of you

such creative ideas, loved Mini Chocolate Bat Bites, thanks for sharing.
The mini bat treats are amazing. I made these last year but cut the biscuits using knife. They did not look as appealing as yours. Seems like imperfection is what makes it perfect.
Hahaha I couldnโt agree more! Iโm so glad you enjoyed! Thanks! ๐
